The EYE crew has used several sources:
GRIB Forecasts
Alan wrote, "We use the GRIB forecasts [and the GRIB viewer] that you can download ...."
Weather for the transit from Jamaica to Cartagena appears to have been good thus far. Here is a current GRIB weather data image (2/16/2010 10am) for the Caribbean Sea...

and an image with more detail near Cartagena....
and corresponding SPOT track as of 10am today (02/16/2010) ...
Here is an example photo of a GRIB weather image on Alan's laptop computer (January 17, 2010) ...
NOAA Forecasts
He also noted that "I frequently download the NWS's "SW N Atlantic" offshore forecast which you can read right off NOAA and is also broadcast over high frequency (HF) radio every few hours. It is divided up into regions. We are currently in the NW Caribbean region but will soon be entering the SW Caribbean region through to Cartagena."
Weather Net Forecasts
And Alan wrote, "There is also a weather net. (Search for caribbean weather center online to see the weather net's website. It is on every morning with forecasts and individual weather routing for paying cruisers."
